Piksters are starting to take over from TePe in Australia where they were invented as customers experience the benefits of their greater strength, ease of use and lower cost (as we did when we first tried them). The large TePe dental packs contain 8 brushes whereas Piksters contain 10 (except the mixed trial pack which contains 8 and we sell for £2.25 - see product below).
TePes tend to bend very easily and soon have to be discarded. Also some people find them hard to use. Piksters provide the solution.
The direct size comparison is shown below, please note that all TePe brushes are staight but some of the Piksters are tapered (as detailed) to give a geater size range. For a pictorial sizing chart click on photo.
Sizes shown are wire diameter (and hence the minmum gap size required):
- Piksters Black 1.1mm (tapered) = TePe Purple
- Piksters Green 0.8mm (tapered) = TePe Green
- Piksters Blue 0.7mm (tapered) = TePe Yellow
- Piksters Red 0.65mm = TePe Blue (0.6mm) or Yellow (0.7mm)
- Piksters Yellow 0.6mm (tapered) = TePe Blue
- Piksters White 0.55mm = Tepe Red (0.5mm) or Blue (0.6mm)
- Piksters Purple 0.5mm = TePe Red
- Piksters Grey 0.35mm = TePe Pink (0.4mm)
